Research Fields

Prof. Zhou’s   research interesting could be mostly covered by the following issues:

1. Metabolic engineering of industrial microorganisms   for the efficient production of keto acids (pyruvic acid and α-ketoglutaric   acid) and plant natural products (flavonoids and L-ascorbic acid), especially   for the establishment of new strategies in fine-tuning of metabolic pathway   and high-throughput screening;

2. Development of strategies related to   carbon-nitrogen balance regulation in eukaryotic microorganisms, especially   on the regulation of up-stream phosphorylation process and down-stream   ubiquitination process, and their applications in metabolic engineering and   synthetic biology fields.
