Research Fields

Main research interesting on modification and production of   industrial enzymes, including transglutaminase, lipoxygenase, asparaginase,   pectinase, and etc.

1)   Modification of enzyme application performance

Based on the   investigation on the mechanism of enhanced thermal stability and activity of   lipoxygenase fused with amphipathic peptides, we attempt to design   amphipathic peptides with high specificity or universality to improve the   thermal stabilities and activities of industrial enzymes. We also focus on   mining key loop structures in the enzyme and modifying it for enhanced   catalytic performance through random mutation, sequence replacement, and etc.

2)   Efficient secretory expression of enzymes

To improve the   secretory expression of enzymes, the expression and secretion pathway of   enzyme (gene synthesis, transcription, translation, protein folding and transport,   etc.) in Streptomyces and Aspergillus niger are systematically   analyzed, and the restrictive factors for enzyme production are identified   and subsequently eliminated. In addition, we are interested in the effects of   N-terminal sequence of enzyme on its expression and expression.
